Children’s Week is an annual event which celebrates the right of children to enjoy childhood. It is also a time for children to demonstrate their talents, skills and abilities. Children’s week is widely celebrated across schools, childcare centres, community groups, churches, businesses and federal, state and local government agencies.
Every year all Gold Coast C&K affiliate centres come together to participate in Children’s Week. Each centre provides a child friendly activity and we invite all our friends and families to attend this special day. There are so many wonderful and exciting things to do – pony rides, face painting, , music, dancing and entertainment, jumping castles and the animal nursery to visit. You might be able to make a kite, tie dye a shirt, climb an obstacle course, enjoy water play or paint a picture. This year Broadbeach Kindergarten provided a beautiful threading activity for children to participate in – each child leaving us with a delightful creation – many of which we saw being worn by themselves (or their lucky mums!) throughout the day.
The philosophy of C&K kindergartens being community based means we endeavour to provide opportunities for many children to experience the difference – even if for only a day. Barefoot in the Park gives our children the fun of going to kindy in the park and also gives new families the chance to find out a little more about each centre and what we offer the children in our care.
We enjoyed a magnificent turn out, the weather was glorious, there was fun and laughter all around the park and there were happy faces everywhere.
We hope to see everyone back at Barefoot in 2014!
