Loud Shirt Day!

Broadbeach Kindergarten was a proud supporter of the Hear and Say Centre’s Loud Shirt Day in October. We joined with many other organisations and institutions around Queensland to raise much needed funds for this wonderful Centre who work with children with severe hearing loss. Our little Seahorse friend Emily Rose is profoundly deaf and is the proud owner of “magic ears”! Emily received a double cochlear implant before her first birthday and with all the resources and professional assistance from the Hear and Say Centre is now a confident, happy and sociable little girl!

Broadbeach Kindergarten was delighted to come on board to support Emily and many other children just like her and are hopeful that the monies raised on our Loud Shirt Days will give other children the opportunity to be “wired” for sound!

To raise funds the children and staff dressed in their “Loudest” shirts and bought in a cash donation. We had our faces painted and our hair coloured. We enjoyed juicy icy poles and had a picnic lunch. Together with a generous donation from the kindergarten and wonderful support from our families and friends we were able to successfully support this wonderful cause.

Thank you Emily Rose and family for sharing this special day with us.
