Amazing families, amazing staff, amazing kindergarten!

This year was my first experience at kindy. My girls have never attended day care or anything where they were away from me so this year I was very nervous. I only moved to the Gold Coast a year before my daughter was to start kindy. I knew no one and no idea about the place so I was full of nerves and uncertainty. I cannot express how grateful I am to have found such an amazing kindy with three of the most amazing and caring teachers. I watched my daughter feel comfortable straight away as the kindy has such a warm loving environment and so many activities to keep them busy every day. To my relief, on her first day she said to me “it’s ok mummy – you can go now and just pick me up at pick up time.” I watched the teachers with the other children, and with some of the children who were finding it a bit difficult to say goodbye to mummy. They were so caring and their experience in this situation really shone through. You could tell they had been through this ‘first day’ for many years! I picked her up and she had already made lots of friends and was so excited to go back. It has stayed like that all year, in fact she is disappointed when it is not a kindy day!

I watched my daughter turn into such an independent little girl with so much confidence and personality really grew. Even though she has two younger siblings she learnt to interact with other children her age and made some great friends. She played outside and learnt to climb the beautiful tree. Kathryne, Libby and Danie really focus on letting the children learn by play and really let the children’s imagination come to life. I found my daughter coming home and playing games with her sisters that she had learned at kindy and she would tell me all about her days and how much fun she had. She was always coming up with new things to do and make. Her favourite words became “mummy I know what we could do with that!”

Not only did my daughter make great friends but so did I. I met some amazing families and we have caught up for play dates on days that kindy was not on. I feel so privileged that I was able to attend Broadbeach Kindy as it has not been just a kindy for me – but has become my community. I was on the committee which allowed me to meet some great mums and really see how the kindy was run and what an amazing job they do. I would recommend this kindy to everyone and anyone.

As for the teachers – I really can’t put into words my gratitude for what they have been able to give not only my daughter – but my whole family. They have been working together for a long time now and it shows. They have everything down pat and work together so well. They put their heart and souls into this kindy and the children and all the families feel that. I do not consider these lovely ladies as my daughter’s teachers – I consider them to be my friends. My only regret is that my daughter can’t stay here forever!
